Obsidian Order(KoA)

History: The Obsidian Order originated in Ultima Online and was birthed from the need for an effective pvp unit to combat well-trained enemy pks. The Order has undergone several superficial evolutions across and within games. Sometimes it was an Order within our ingame guild structure and at other times it used its own guild tag/stone, though in reality a direct and integrated part of KoA proper. Sometimes it was openly acknowleged as the military arm of the KoA and at others it's identity was clandestine in nature.

Whatever its manifestation, the OO is at its heart a very small, very committed, very competent group of KoA pvp-ers. Though their tactics and aggression may be ruthless, its members are expected to adhere to certain codes of conduct with the enemy that do not impact their combat effectiveneness.

Purpose: Ours will be to support the interests and members of the KoA guild though passionate, merciless, and violent warfare.

Dedication: To be in the Obsidian Order it is expected that you will exist in this game to fight. In order to do that you must not have...or be willing to walk away from all other distractions (crafting, harvesting, even leveling). Voice programs (speaking and listening) are mandatory. The reading of our guild forums on a regular basis will also be required.

Effectiveness: You must understand your role. The guild, team, and the Obsidian Order come first. You are expected to not just die for KoA members, or to protect their interests, but you are expected to kill for them as well. Nothing including your self preservation should come first. Infamy? No. Infamy is not a badge we wear. Instead each time we lose a member in battle, we diminish ourselves and our image. Each time we kill, we enhance. Effective pvp'ers know and understand the group combat dynamics, and that sometimes, that last heal must be thrown for another member in order to win the battle even if it results in personal death. You are expected to be prepared in every way possible (gear, body, mind, soul).

Inquiries: Each Chapter has their own respective Obsidian Order leader if the OO exists in that chapter. They are the ones to contact regarding interest and inquiries.

Obsidian Order (KoA) Application Process

Application to the Obsidian Order is something that is open to, and a right of *all* KoA members. Admission however is not. Here are some guidelines:

1. Everything listed above of course must be agreeable.
2. You will have to be able to compete with, hold your own against, and beat level max level characters. The Obsidian Order is not about fighting "fair". Where that falls for you, will depend on both your class and skill.
3. You will be required to "run" with the Obsidian Order. Your personality and ability to work within the team will be judged to build the strongest team possible.
4. All core members of the OO leadership must approve your application, after the "test runs" and "trials of combat" have been completed favorably.
5. You must of course be in good standing with KoA proper.
6. You must understand that your continued membership is contingent upon participation and performance.
