I had chosen not to speak publicly because I believe it is the best thing to do, but after reading the public announcement on the other site I dont intend to sit back and say nothing about the situation.
Ramsonne and I have been the most involved in running the guild over the years. In the earlier days it was more me, and in recent years it was more him. I officially made him a co-leader of KoA sometime in the past 3-4 years since he had to be recognized for what he had done here for the guild.
At some point in the past, and for me it seemed like during Warhammer Online, the differences between us started to appear. We just had different styles of doing things. Thats not a good or a bad thing, but over time it sort of turned into something negative.
My real life job keeps me pretty busy. Thats just the way it is as Ive advanced in my own career. It also means I dont have the time I would have had ten years ago to play. Ramsonne did, so much of what was happening with the guild went through him more recently, though to say that I was completely gone the past few years is false since I was involved heavily with the WoW chapter much of that time and was still involved with the guild at times even when I wasnt actively playing a game. To me equals work around each other and at times one will be more active than the other depending on each persons real life situation.
As far as I was concerned he did have equal status in the guild. I stayed out of his way and let him do what he thought was right. I never stopped him or treated him in any way where the rest of the guild wouldnt see him as a equal to me, but he did not feel he was being treated this way. We just didnt seem to understand each others issues for some reason that I still cant answer and I dont remember ever having a serious discussion about having his name with mine on the server or DNS information for the guild. Im not even sure how to do that if I wanted to since it was all done by Dreamhost.
Recently I was asked to turn over the guild to him and allow him to migrate the forums and website to his own server. I said no since my options were either to be pushed out of my own guild or to watch the guild split with neither option being wonderful. He felt it was in his best interest to part ways so we talked a bit and came to an agreement. I told him to take Kings Age since that was his chapter and he turned it into what it is today. Trying to split all of that up wouldnt have done any good for anyone involved.
I am the first person that will say Ramsonne did an enormous amount of work for this guild and was a partner of mine for many years. He is still a person I can respect for his past accomplishments. This is not at all a situation that I wanted to see, but it was a mutual decision and is probably the best thing for both of us. Its a great step for him to fully be able to run a guild on his own as he would like to and that is a feeling I can definately understand. I wish him the best of luck in whatever he decides to do, but find a new guild name because as far as Im concerned KoA is here.
As for the rest of you, I thank you for your time in KoA. Whether you choose to play here or there in the future you are always welcome.
